Suju (b. 1998) is a multidisciplinary artist working between the mediums of tattooing, drawing, painting, and ceramics.
“My creative practice is an expression of personal freedom. It is informed by a fundamental understanding of myself as nature, existing in relationship to all beings that constitute the world - a kind of personal ecology. My work emerges from this moment of encounter.
Shifting between mediums allows me to think in different languages, although I find that my practice always comes back to the most basic and fundamental act of mark making. Tattooing is my most collaborative medium - I view it as a technical craft in its own right, and at the same time as a practice of care, bodily autonomy, and collaborative creation.”
